The Taljai hill and temple is one of the best visiting tourist attractions in Pune. The temple is located in the heart of the city, Sahakarnagar area, and is dedicated to Goddess Taljai. If you are lucky enough, you might come across many peacocks and even a few snakes while on your hike up the hill. A no vehicle zone, the hill is covered in lush green trees, especially during the monsoons. The Taljai Hill is a must visit for nature lovers and amateur bird watchers.
  • Goddess Taljai, the temple is one of the main attractions of the Taljai Hill. The hillock is supposed to be named after the goddess Taljai. The Taljai Mata temple comprises two sanctums. The outer sanctum is a large hall where generally the devotees pray from, whereas the inner sanctum is where rests the divine Goddess Taljai. The surrounding of the temple is well maintained with sitting arrangements, tree shades, etc. Navratri (Durga Puja) is the best time to visit this temple. The temple set up grand functions during nine days(Navratries). The entire temple is decorated with flowers and lightings at further make this temple more captivating. Moreover, the divine hymns and prayers chanted during the Navratri Puja which takes you to a world beyond mere spirituality.
